Orchid delivery & care FAQs

Our orchid collection is mostly Phalaenopsis (also known as moth orchids) in white, pink, soft pink, hot pink, lime green, and fiery orange — plus a rotating selection of Dendrobium and Oncidium orchids for something more unusual. All are mature, in full bloom, and ready to display.

Yes. Order before 6pm and we'll hand-deliver your orchid the same day, anywhere in London. Orchids are delivered potted, wrapped, and finished with a gift message if you've added one.

Phalaenopsis orchids are far easier than their reputation suggests. Give them bright indirect light (a north or east-facing window is ideal), water once a week by soaking the roots for a few minutes then draining thoroughly, and keep them away from radiators and cold draughts. When the roots look silver rather than green, it's time to water. Each product page has detailed care notes.

About once a week, sometimes less in winter. Overwatering is the most common reason orchids struggle — the roots should dry out between waterings. If you're unsure, wait an extra day. An orchid left slightly dry will forgive you; one sat in water usually won't.

Yes. Once the flowers fade, cut the stem back to just above the second node from the base. Keep it somewhere cool overnight — around 15–18°C — for a few weeks to encourage reblooming. A healthy Phalaenopsis will typically rebloom once or twice a year for many years.

One of the best. They last months rather than days, they're striking in any room, and they signal care and taste in equal measure. Orchids are particularly well-suited to new homes, sympathy, thank-yous, significant birthdays, and corporate gifts.

Phalaenopsis (moth orchid) has large, flat, rounded flowers on arching stems — the classic indoor orchid and the easiest to care for. Dendrobium has tall, upright canes with clusters of flowers running up them — more architectural, great for modern interiors. Oncidium (often called "dancing lady") has sprays of smaller, jewel-like flowers on branching stems — dramatic and unusual.

Usually not. One or two yellowing lower leaves is normal as the plant ages them out. Yellowing across the whole plant points to overwatering — check that the roots aren't sitting in water and that the pot is draining properly. Shrivelled leaves, by contrast, usually mean underwatering or root damage.

Phalaenopsis, Dendrobium, and Oncidium orchids are generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, which makes orchids one of the safer flowering houseplants if you have pets. That said, we'd still recommend keeping them out of reach — chewed leaves aren't great for the plant, even if they won't harm your pet.
