Tulips are at their finest from January through to May. Outside of peak season we source carefully from specialist growers to ensure quality — check our current availability at checkout.

About our tulips

Frequently asked questions about tulip delivery

Like roses, tulip colours carry distinct meanings. Red tulips are associated with deep love and passion, making them a popular romantic alternative to red roses. Pink tulips represent affection, care, and good wishes. White tulips symbolise purity, forgiveness, and new beginnings. Yellow tulips, once associated with hopeless love, now symbolise cheerfulness and sunshine. Purple tulips represent royalty and admiration. Orange tulips convey enthusiasm, energy, and warmth. A mixed tulip bouquet in multiple colours is a joyful, celebratory choice for almost any occasion.

Freshly cut tulips typically last 5–10 days in a vase. Unlike most flowers, tulips continue to grow after cutting — they can lengthen by several centimetres in the vase. To care for them well: trim the stems on arrival and place in a few centimetres of cool, clean water — tulips prefer shallow water rather than a full vase. Keep them in a cool room away from direct sunlight and heat, and change the water every two days. Avoid placing them near fruit, which shortens vase life.

Tulips are a spring flower, at their absolute best from January through to May. Dutch tulip season peaks in March and April, when the widest range of varieties is available at the highest quality. Outside of this window, specialist growers can supply tulips year-round, though variety and availability may be more limited. If you're ordering tulips for a specific occasion outside of spring, we recommend checking availability at checkout.

There are more than 3,000 registered tulip varieties, grouped into several main categories. Single early and single late tulips have the classic cup-shaped bloom — clean, elegant, and widely recognised. Double tulips have layered petals resembling peonies and create a more lush, romantic look. Parrot tulips have dramatic, ruffled, and feathered petals in bold colour combinations. Fringed tulips have delicately serrated petal edges. Viridiflora tulips incorporate green streaks into the petals. Our collection includes a curated selection of these varieties depending on seasonal availability.

Absolutely — tulips make a beautiful and versatile gift for almost any occasion. A classic monochrome tulip bouquet in a single colour is elegant and contemporary. A mixed tulip arrangement in seasonal colours is cheerful and celebratory. Tulips are a particularly popular choice for spring birthdays, Mother's Day, and Easter, but they work equally well for thank you gifts, get well soon gestures, and brightening someone's home.

We offer same-day tulip delivery across London for orders placed before 6pm, seven days a week. For mainland UK, next-day delivery is available when you order before 5pm. Tulips are a popular choice for last-minute gifts — same-day delivery means a fresh bouquet can arrive within hours of ordering.

Tulips are slightly different from most cut flowers in a few key ways. They continue to grow after cutting, so a vase that looks well-arranged on arrival will look different a day later as the stems lengthen and the blooms open. They prefer cool temperatures and shallow water rather than a deep vase. They also tend to lean towards light, so rotating the vase occasionally helps keep the arrangement balanced. Other than these quirks, tulip care is straightforward — fresh water, no direct sunlight, and away from fruit.
